Solutions of diffusion equation for point defects
An analytical solution of the equation describing diffusion of intrinsic point defects in semiconductor crystals has been obtained for a one-dimensional finite-length domain with the Robin-type boundary conditions. The distributions of point defects for different migration lengths of defects have been calculated. The exact analytical solution was used to verify the approximate numerical solutio...
متن کاملHigh accuracy multigrid solution of the 3D convection-diffusion equation
We present an explicit fourth-order compact nite diierence scheme for approximating the three dimensional convection-diiusion equation with variable coeecients. This 19-point formula is deened on a uniform cubic grid. Fourier smoothing analysis is performed to show that the smoothing factor of certain relaxation techniques used with the scheme is smaller than 1. We design a parallelization-orie...
متن کاملHigh Energy Gamma Rays
This article reviews the present status of high energy γ-ray astronomy at energies above 30 MeV. Observations in the past decade using both spaceand ground-based experiments have been primarily responsible for giving a tremendous boost to our knowledge of the high energy Universe. High energy γ-rays have been detected from a wide range of Galactic and extragalactic astrophysical sources, such a...
متن کاملGalerkin Method for the Numerical Solution of the Advection-Diffusion Equation by Using Exponential B-splines
In this paper, the exponential B-spline functions are used for the numerical solution of the advection-diffusion equation. Two numerical examples related to pure advection in a finitely long channel and the distribution of an initial Gaussian pulse are employed to illustrate the accuracy and the efficiency of the method. Obtained results are compared with some early studies.
متن کاملNumerical Solution of the Electron Diffusion Equation
, A numerical solution to the integro-differential equation describing the energy'distribution of a beam of electrons which has passed through matter, losing energy by radiation only, has been obtained utilizing a finite difference mesh method. Solutions were obtained for thicknesses of up to 0.1 radiation lengths for a complete screening approximation to the energy loss equation. The accuracy ...
